PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier tape which eliminates cracking or chipping or the like of a resin sealing body which protects an electronic part from the damage of the terminal due to rubbing between the ball terminal of the electronic part and the carrier tape by a vibration/impact during transport/carrying, the adhesion of dust, and a dropping impact during transport, in the carrier tape which transports or carries the electronic part while holding the completed product of the electronic part having the ball terminal. SOLUTION: This carrier tape holds a completed product of an electronic part 5 having a ball terminal such as a semiconductor device of an intensive circuit or the like, a liquid crystal display element for a mobile unit or a cellular phone, an elastic surface wave element, or a printing circuit substrate, and transports or carries such a product. For such a carrier tape, a cushioning mechanism comprising a pedestal section 12 and a connecting section 14 which softens vibrations and absorbs a dropping impact is provided on the bottom surface in a pocket 10 of the carrier tape.
