Cancers associated with overexpression of HER-2/neu are treated with a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 as the sole treating agent or said inhibitor in combination regimen with HERCEPTIN(R) and/or standard therapy. Uses include adjuvant therapy for HER-2/neu positive breast cancer and treatment of HER-2/neu positive breast cancer that has metastasized.
