PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material excellent in water resistant blocking property and good in printability. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material, a thermal color forming layer containing a dye precursor and a developer is provided on a support, and one or more protective layer is further provided thereon. An ammonium salt of a diisobutylene/maleic anhydride copolymer with a mol.wt. of 1-200,000 and a water-soluble polymer with a mol.wt. of 1,000,000 or more are added to at least one layer of the protective layer. This protective layer is set to the uppermost layer of the protective layer. As the water-soluble polymer, natural polysaccharide with a mol.wt. of 1,000,000 or more or derivatives thereof are used. A polyamide epichlorohydrin resin is added to the protective layer. |
