PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminator in which a film can be protected against deterioration or deformation due to overheat and can be hot pressed uniformly against an image receiving medium. SOLUTION: Among a pair of rollers 5a and 5b for hot pressing an image receiving medium and a film in a means for fixing the film to the surface side of the image receiving medium having a record image surface, one roller 5a incorporating a heat source is arranged to move freely in the direction receding from the other roller 5b in order to protected the film 102 against deterioration or deformation due to overheat. When one roller 5a is rotary driven while being spaced apart at least from the other roller 5b, one roller 5a can be rotated while abutting against a cleaning member 16.
