PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer requiring a minimum necessary installation space and not requiring any extra space for fixing/removing work for a platen. SOLUTION: Bearing holding sections 34 at the opposite end parts of a platen 10 are formed continuously to a pair of openings 33 made in a pair of side frames 32. At the time of fixing/removing work of the platen 10, the platen 10 can be inclined in the printer utilizing the openings 33.
