PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding device of a rotary press holding a printed matter better at a folding flap during transfer of the printed matter from one cylinder surface to another cylinder surface by improving a folding device of such a type that a folding flap arrangement provided on a folding flap cylinder is provided with a fixed folding flag part and a movable flap part and that a gap is formed between the fixed folding flap part and the movable folding flap part and that a folding mechanism of other cylinder operating together with the folding flap cylinder enters into the gap to fold the printed matter. SOLUTION: The movable flap part 14 is provided with a springy elastic area 20. The elastic area 20 presses the fixed folding flap part 13 during a folding process of the printed matter.
