PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a needle and an air gun with which an operation of thrusting a needle into a live fish into an apparent death state can be readily and rapidly carried out. SOLUTION: This needle has a front end 101 so sharply formed that it can be thrust into a nerve or spinal cord part of organism of an object, and has a rear end face 102 provided with a recessed part 103 for receiving compressed air sent from the rear of the rear end face.
