PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for laying a deep water suction pipe preventing occurrence of deformation of the suction pipe even when delivering of the suction pipe is stopped. SOLUTION: This device for laying the deep water suction pipe loads on a ship body 1 with a reel 3 around which the suction pipe P made mainly of a plastic pipe is wound in a roll and draws the suction pipe P from the reel 3 by a caterpillar type feeder 4 placed on the ship body 1 for throwing the suction pipe P into water. A holding tool 5 to hold detachably the suction pipe P is mounted on a front part and/or a rear part of the caterpillar type feeder 4 in the feeding direction.
