PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ink jet printer capable of certainly carrying out a securing of a recording medium on a midway of paper delivery by a simple constitution and certainly preventing a stain on an image-formed surface of the former recording paper sheet on a paper-delivery tray. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer is provided with a retaining member 61 extending in a width direction above a paper-delivery tray 4, rotatably provided in contact and retaining a recording paper sheet, from an opposite image-formed surface side, delivered from a cabinet 2 in the state that an image-formed surface is upwardly directed, and a driving mechanism 62 for rotating the retaining member. A bent part 61c downwardly bent to an angular shape is provided at a center of an expanded part 61b of the retaining member so that a securing is carried out against the recording paper sheet toward a delivery direction. The retaining member is rotated by the driving mechanism to a retaining position where the recording paper sheet is retained in the secured state so that a contact time against the former recording paper sheet P' on the paper-delivery tray is delayed and a release position where the secured state of the recording paper sheet is released so that the recording paper sheet is stacked against the former recording paper sheet on the paper-delivery tray.
