PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to distinguish terephthalic acid recovered from polyester from virgin terephthalic acid newly produced. SOLUTION: A discrimination of terephthalic acid recovered from polyester from virgin terephthalic acid newly produced from paraxylene, is made possible by adding and dispersing uniformly an inorganic compound as a discriminating compound.
