PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for a retort food which can be easily opened and is preferable in view of sanitary state or its outer appearance, and a retort food packaged body utilizing the container. SOLUTION: There is provided a synthetic resin cup-shaped container in which an outward extending flange 13 arranged at a circumferential edge of an upper opening is sealed to close a lid member. Either a cut notch 13a or a through-cut hole is formed in at least one location of an outer circumferential edge so as to hold the lid member 20 and to cause it to be peeled off. An outer annular protrusion 14 and an inner annular protrusion 15 for fixing the lid member are arranged over an entire circumference at an outer circumferential edge of the upper surface and its inner side. The inner annular protrusion near the notch or the hole is formed with an initial opening 15a having a sharp shape toward a radial outward direction. Some column-like protrusions 16 for use in fixing the lid member are spot located near at least the notch or the hole between the outer annular protrusion and the inner annular protrusion.
