[Class 53.] Cells.-To provide a tight joint between the metal container and the seal of a dry cell, the upper edge of the container is turned inwardly and downwardly and is completely embedded within the sealing material, and the turned-over edge is provided with a series of vents. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the edge of the container 1 has gas vents 11 and is bent and embedded in the seal 10a which completely fills the space within the container 1 and the carton 3 above the washer 9. Specification 368,081 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also cells with metal containers which have their edges turned inwardly but not downwardly. The edge may project radially inwards or be bent as shown in Fig. 4 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
