PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permeability-improving method by which permeability in the layer of raw materials for sintering in a DL(Dwight-Lloyd) sintering machine can be improved and excellent permeability can be stably maintained and the productivity of the DL sintering machine can be improved. SOLUTION: A plurality of cavities are formed within the layer of raw materials for sintering at a distance of >=30 mm from the top surface of sole ore in such a way that they are apart from each other in the width direction of a pallet, and these cavities are intermittently filled with granulated matter.
