PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the propulsion and control of a pilot body for ground borer without making a great deviation from a target point to a range where an obstacle or the like is located. SOLUTION: In a ground borer for driving the pilot body 20 having a tilted pressure receiving surface 21 into the ground by a rod 19, the electromagnetic wave of an oscillator 22 attached to the pilot body 20 is received by a receiver 23 on the ground and the depth, the amount of deviation to the left or right, angle of slope, angle of rotation and the angles of right and left are detected. After this detection, an arithmetic controller 24 is provided, which calculates the depth and right and left deviations at the position with the pilot body 20 driven by a predetermined distance by using each value of the pilot body 20 previously detected, measured drive distance of pilot body, angle of rotation or the like; an operator assumes the depth and right and left deviations of the pilot body 20 by using the results of calculations, in this way, the predicted propulsion control can be performed without creating a large deviation from the target point beyond a certain range from an obstacle or the like. |
