PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability when a flap is set in a binding apparatus. SOLUTION: The binding apparatus in which a flap F placed on a flap placing mechanism 10 is fed on a body fabric M1 waiting for at a sewing preparing position P1 and a specified binding is applied by carrying it in the carrying direction Y by means of a fabric carrying mechanism 3 is provided. The flap placing mechanism 10 has approximately a rectangle and is arranged in such a way that the longitudinal direction is the carrying direction and is provided with a flap placing stand 11 on which the flap is placed, a presser bar 12 extended in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the flap placing stand 11 and provided so as to be brought into contact with and separable from the top face of the flap placing stand 11 and a supporting arm 13 extended in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the flap placing stand 11 and having a rotational support on one end on its sewing finishing position P3 side and the other end of which is provided so as to be brought into contact with and separable from the top face of the flap placing stand 11. The presser bar 12 is supported by means of the supporting arm 13 in such a way that both ends of the presser bar 12 are freely rockable vertically.
