A method for measuring a component using weak chemical light emission, wherein a food, a blood sample or an organ is mixed and reacted with a measuring reagent comprising three chemicals selected from a hydrogen peroxide solution having a specific concentration, gallic acid, potassium hydrogen carbonate and aldehyde in 12 holes (2) of a multi-well plate (1), a weak chemical light emission in a hole (2) is detected by a light detecting means such as a CCD camera, the resulting image is subjected to a photo-counting and then image processing, and various degrees of brightness are shown in a display, to thereby confirm the presence of active oxygen and a component capable of deactivating active oxygen in the food, the blood sample or the organ; and reagents for use in the method. When the chemical light emission is not detected, it is shown that active oxygen is absent in the food, the blood sample or the organ, and accordingly, the presence or absence of active oxygen and a component capable of deactivating active oxygen in the food, the blood sample or the organ can be measured with ease. |
