PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging method whereby high image quality prints approximate to dye prints can be obtained by jetting ink with the use of a pigment ink, and high-speed imaging and high-speed heat treatment are enabled. SOLUTION: In the imaging method in which at least the heat treatment is carried out after ink jet recording is executed by the pigment inkonto a recording medium having a thermoplastic fine particle-containing layer at a surface layer, a maximum placing quantity of the pigment per unit area is 0.5-1.8 g/m2 and a quantity of the thermoplastic fine particles of the recording medium surface layer is 0.5-9 g/m2. A relation of an expression 1<=Y/X<=16 is satisfied when the maximum implanting quantity of the pigment per unit area is Xg/m2 and the quantity of the thermoplastic fine particles of the recording medium surface layer is Yg/m2. |
