PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepladder having high safety in use, compactly folded for easy transportation, and having handrails. SOLUTION: This stepladder is provided with a pair of leg bodies 1 arranged with a plurality of horizontal muntins 2 between opposite supports 5 at proper intervals and a base plate 3 supported above by the leg bodies 1. Handrail supports 4 extended above the supports 5 in use and located on the side face side of the supports 5 when not used are fitted to the side face upper sections of the supports 5 of both leg bodies 1 rotatably against the supports 5, and the tips of the handrail supports 4 are rotatably connected together by connecting pins 10. Since the handrail supports 4 are extended above the supports 5 of the leg bodies 1, a worker can work by holding the handrail supports 4. When the stepladder is not used, the handrail supports 4 are folded on the side face side of the supports 5 of the leg bodies 1, and both leg bodies 1 can be folded.
