PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical air filter having a sufficient strength against the load applied to the air filter in the axial direction thereof. SOLUTION: In the cylindrical air filter having a casing, which is equipped with a fan and a motor, placed on the upper side thereof and used in the filter unit of a clean room, a filter medium is interposed between air permeable cylindrical reinforcing frames doubly arranged inside and outside in a concentric circular form and lid members are provided to both end opening parts of the reinforcing frames and the opening parts formed to the end surfaces of the filter medium are closed by the lid members and an opening part is formed at the upper lid member for ventilation.
