PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inorganic film-forming coating material which forms an inorganic film particularly having excellent corrosion prevention of metals. SOLUTION: The inorganic film-forming coating material is obtained by reacting (A) at least one fluoride salt to be selected from a silicofluoride salt, a titanium fluoride salt, and a zirconium fluoride salt with (B) at least one hydrolyzable monomer to be selected from a silicon monomer, a titanium monomer, and a zirconium monomer which have been entirely substituted with a hydrolyzable monomer and/or its low condensate.
