PURPOSE: A ceiling cassette type air conditioner is provided to reduce size of an indoor unit by reducing size of a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes a main body(52); an air blower(56) and an air blowing motor(54); and a heat exchanger(70). The main body is placed on a ceiling. The air blower and the air blowing motor are placed in the main body to take in and discharge indoor air. The heat exchanger is installed in the air blower to exchange heat with air taken in by rotation of the air blower. The heat exchanger is formed to be spirally wound toward a rotary center of the air blower to expand heat transfer area thereof. The heat exchanger comprises a heat transfer pipe, delivering refrigerant therein, and fins, placed outside the heat transfer pipe at fixed intervals to expand heat transfer area of the heat transfer pipe, both of which are integrally formed. |
