PURPOSE: To use motor torque sufficiently for running a vehicle and to make the fuel consumption excellent. CONSTITUTION: An internal combustion engine 11, a speed change gear 12, a clutch 14, an electric device 51 linked to the speed change gear 12, an actuator for engaging and disengaging the clutch 14, a speed change stage detecting means for detecting the selected speed change stage, an accelerator opening sensor and a controller are provided. When the accelerator opening is less than the preset value at the speed change stage having the large gear ratio, the vehicle is made to run at a motor drive mode. When the accelerator opening is larger than the preset value, the vehicle is made to run at an acceleration assist mode. When the acceleration opening is less than the preset value at the speed change stage having the small gear ratio, the vehicle is made to run at the engine drive mode. When the acceleration opening is larger than the preset value, the vehicle is made to run at the acceleration assist mode. |
