PURPOSE: A device and method for heating a microwave oven is provided to directly transfer heat generated in a heater body into a food by vertically arranging shielding plate and to reduce a producing cost. CONSTITUTION: A device for heating a microwave oven comprises an inner panel(50) forming a cavity to receive food; an outer panel(60) assembled on an outer portion of the inner panel; a heater body(70) arranged between the inner panel and the outer panel; a reflecting plate(72) reflecting radiating heat into the food from the heater body; a shielding plate(76) rotationally formed between the heater body and the food; a blower(80) circulating air of the cavity; a motor applying driving force to rotate the shielding plate; a control unit outputting a driving signal into the motor and the blower; a heater hole(50) formed on an inner portion of the cavity; a blower bole(54) formed on the blower; an air guiding unit(56) cooking the food by circulating the air of the cavity through the blower; a convection cooking button cooking the food by a convection type; and a radiation cooking button cooking the food by a radiation type.
