PURPOSE: Supporting structure of a manual shaft for an automatic transmission is provided to reduce assembling process and parts by restricting longitudinal movement of the manual shaft and by turning with assembling a protrusion guide part of a transmission case with a protrusion of the manual shaft, and to disassemble the manual shaft conveniently by reducing tolerance. CONSTITUTION: A manual shaft(17) is installed in a transmission case(15), and supported to restrict longitudinal movement and to turn. A protrusion(19) is protruded in the outer periphery of the manual shaft, and a protrusion guide part(21) is formed in the transmission case to guide rotation of the protrusion. The end of the manual shaft is inserted to the transmission case, and the protrusion is arranged in a protrusion groove(23). The manual shaft is turned corresponding to the rotational angle of a manual plate, and the manual plate and an inhibitor switch are mounted. Longitudinal movement is restricted, and the manual shaft is turned with assembling the protrusion with the protrusion guide part. Assembling process and parts are reduced with integrally forming the protrusion and the protrusion guide part. The manual shaft is disassembled conveniently with reducing tolerance.
