PURPOSE:To economically obtain the title compound crystal of large size with favorable filterability and dryability by growing, as seed crystal, ground crystal of alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester. CONSTITUTION:alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester (AMP) crystal is ground by pref. a physical means using e.g. ultrasonic wave, and the resultant ground crystal (pref. rodlike crystal), as seed crystal, is grown to crystallize AMP. For the growth, it is preferable that an aqueous AMP solution with an AMP concentration of 2-6wt.% at a pH of 3-6 be used at 3 l-20 deg.C in a crystallization tank. For the crystallization, a directly chilling process with ice is preferable since the aimed AMP crystal of favorable crystal form with the seed crystal well-grown can be obtained. |
