The length tolerances of the mullion bars arising in production are placed to be invisible in the completed window and so not affect function or aspect. An entry is cut in the glazing bar by a profiling tool (3.2), thus generating a cut shaped to mullion section, or again using an angled milling spindle and suitably transformed milling tool, the glazing bar sidepiece can be milled out to mullion section. In window assembly, the mullion profile endfaces are received and covered over by the milled glazing bar profile and firmly located thus.
