A combination cellular telephone and sound storage device (10) has a microphone (13) that is operably connected to a transmitter/receiver (20) which is operatively connected to a speaker (22). The device (10) further includes a memory chip (28) that is operatively connected to both the microphone (13) and the speaker (22). The circuit connecting the memory chip (28) to the microphone (13) is controlled by a record switch (32) controlled by a record button (30), thereby allowing the user (5) to record verbal notes made into the microphone (13) during the course of the conversation. The memory chip (28) is operatively connected to the speaker (22) through a play switch (25) controlled by a play button (24).
