The invention concerns a plastic, metal-plastic or metal container whereof the wall comprises, at least partly, an internal layer made of organic material comprising a biocidal substance. If the container is plastic or metal-plastic, the internal layer also comprises an agent enabling controlled release of said biocidal substance. The molecular concentration of said biocidal substance in said organic material preferably ranges between 1 ppm and 100000 ppm. The biocidal substance can be sorbic acid, benzoic acid, diiodomethyl-p-tolyl sulphone, trichloromelamine, triclosan or zinc pyrithione. It can also be derived from non-toxic or non-allergenic natural extracts, in particular of natural origin selected among or derived from vegetable oleoresins; conifer oleoresins, citrus oleoresins, pepper extract (capiscum oleoresin), grapefruit seed extracts, lemon grass oil. The agent releasing the biocidal substance can be citric acid or vitamin E. |
