<p>An electroluminescent display device is disclosed which includes a first set of electrodes and a second set of electrodes being arranged to form a close two-dimensional array of junctions between electrodes of the first set of electrodes and electrodes of the second set of electrodes. Each of the electrodes includes a longitudinal conductive element, and the longitudinal conductive elements of the first set of electrodes are electrically insulated from the longitudinal conductive elements of the second set of electrodes. The close two-dimensional array further includes electroluminescent material deposited on the array at selected locations so as to fill vicinities of junctions in the selected locations, so that the junctions function as pixels of the display device to display at least one predetermined pattern. The device further includes a first mechanism for connecting the longitudinal conductive elements of the first set of electrodes to a power supply in groups of at least one longitudinal conductive element, and a second mechanism for connecting the longitudinal conductive elements of the second set of electrodes to a power supply.</p> |
