METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY AND REMOTELY SWITCHING TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARDWARE

A method and system in a telecommunications network for automatically and remotely switching telecommunications hardware during a maintenance exchange, wherein the telecommunications hardware include data access lines and antenna devices. Initially, an original signaling device is determined, wherein the original signaling device is connected to a data access line and an antenna device within a cell of the telecommunications network. A new signaling device is thereafter designated to replace the original signaling device. The original signaling device and the new signaling device are linked to a switching mechanism for automatically and remotely switching the data access line and the antenna device from the original signaling device to the new signaling device.
