The coupling comprises a tubular insert part (3) with circumferential retaining rib (4), a coupling housing and a locking element (17) connectable to the enlarged housing head. The locking element is formed from two side walls which enclose the housing head on each side, and a cross wall which holds these U-shaped. The locking element has on one side an end plate and on the other side inward facing edges which lock behind the rear edge of the head. The locking element can thus move crosswise between the opening and closing positions.
