The device has a laser radiation source (12), a holder (14) for the unfinished part (16) and a device (18) for positioning the laser beam (20) and the unfinished part relative to each other. The laser radiation source contains a disk laser (22-30) containing an end-pumped laser. The plate source can contain a diode-pumped laser. Independent claims are also included for the following: an unfinished part for a laser-compatible block, a laser-compatible print block and a method of producing print blocks.
