A system for evaluating abnormal sound comprising a sound recorder for recording sound generated from an apparatus in the vicinity thereof, and an abnormal sound evaluation unit for evaluating the recorded sound, wherein the sound recorder comprises means for converting a recorded sound into digital sound data, and means for outputting the converted digital sound data to the abnormal sound evaluation unit, and the abnormal sound evaluation unit comprises means for inputting the digital sound data, and means for evaluating the abnormality of sound based on the inputted digital sound data and outputting evaluation results including abnormal information of the apparatus.
