A teleconferencing system such that misconnection between a teleconference terminal and a communication controller is prevented, the use of the communication controller is optimized, and the conference condition can be set/modified through the teleconference terminal. Information about a first connection destination number is given to the teleconference terminal, and an ID number and password are given to each conference attendance. Information about the application of having a conference, the ID numbers and passwords of the conference attendances are recorded in a reception terminal when the reservation for the conference is made. When the application is accepted, the teleconference terminal sets up a connection to the reception terminal by using the first connection destination number and transmits the information about the ID numbers and passwords. The reception terminal determines a second connection destination number according to the result of collation of the ID numbers and passwords and transmits the information about the second connection destination number. The teleconference terminal sets up a connection to the communication controller by using the second connection destination number. |
