Toilet cistern comprises an inlet unit (10) for service water, an inlet unit (11) for controlling the filling level for fresh water and a run-off valve (16). A horizontal separating wall (4) separates the cistern into two storage chambers (5, 6) connected by a connecting channel (21). The cross-section of flow in the storage chambers is less than in the valve, and the filling volume of the upper storage chamber (5) is larger than in the lower chamber (6). An Independent claim is also included for a water saving system comprising the toilet cistern and a mixed water device. Preferred Features: The inlet of the inlet unit for fresh water opens into the upper storage chamber. The inlet of the inlet unit for service water opens into the upper storage chamber. The valve has an overflow pipe (19) which opens into the upper storage chamber and the inlet of the inlet unit for the fresh water is arranged above an inlet of the overflow pipe.
