<p>A compound having MMP inhibitory activity which is a compound of a hydroxamic acid derivative represented by the following general formula (1) and hyaluronic acid: (1) wherein R1 represents hydrogen, hydroxy, C1-8 alkyl, etc.; R2 represents C1-8 alkyl, etc.; R3 represents C1-8 alkyl, etc.; R4 represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; R5 represents -R7-R8-R9-, where R7 represents C1-8 alkylene, R8 represents methylene, imino, oxygen, etc., and R9 represents C1-10 alkylene, etc.; and R6 represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, provided that R1 and R3 in combination may form a ring. The compound comprises a group represented by the formula (1) and any of hyaluronic acid, a derivative thereof, and salts of these, the former being bonded to a hydroxyl group of the latter through a carbamate linkage.</p> |
