PURPOSE: An optical fiber collimator is provided to ensure precision of an arrangement of the collimator and to enhance the reliability of an optical interface in order to reduce an optical engagement loss. CONSTITUTION: A lens fixing groove(401a) is formed on an upper surface of a silicon substrate(401). After inserting a micro lens(402) into the lens fixing groove(401a), the micro lens(402) is fixed by applying an epoxy resin(403) onto thereof. Furthermore, an optical fiber fixing groove(401b) is formed on a lower surface of the silicon substrate(401). At this time, this optical fiber fixing groove(401b) is aligned in a vertical line with the lens fixing groove(401b). After inserting an optical fiber(404) into the optical fiber fixing groove(401b), the optical fiber is fixed by applying an epoxy resin(405) onto thereof. Predetermined spaces to be filled with epoxy resin are provided between the lens fixing groove(401a) and the micro lens(402), and provided between the fiber fixing groove(401b) and the optical fiber(404).
