PURPOSE: A shock absorbing device for a vehicle hood is provided to minimize the impact transmitted to a pedestrian while maintaining the stiffness of the hood in case of head-on collision of a pedestrian with a vehicle, thereby protecting the pedestrian more safely. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorbing device for a vehicle hood includes a supporting lever(110) rotatably fixed to a bottom surface of an outer panel(2) and supported on the top surface of an inner panel(3) at an end for uniformly keeping an interval between the outer panel and the inner panel, a tension spring(120) provided between the supporting lever and the outer panel for rotating the supporting lever, and an arm(130) rotatably mounted to the bottom surface of the outer panel and supported by the supporting lever at an opposite side of the tension spring for restraining the rotation of the rotation lever.
