METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING FOOD GARBAGE

PURPOSE: To change food garbage with high water content into general wastes that can be incinerated or reclaimed by removing biodecomposable organic matter and water from food garbage, a method for processing food garbage which uses microbe for decomposing biodecomposable organic matter and volatile matter is provided. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises two circular plates(3,4) which rotates by motor; a rotation blade(5) which is connected with circular plates; a fixed gear(1) which is fixed at one side of wall; a rotary gear(2) which rotates with the circular pipe near to the wall in which fixed gear is installed; a rotary screw which rotates by rotary gear; a discharge part(8) for food garbage. For this apparatus, three kinds of microbe are inoculated. One microbe has decomposition activity for biodecomposable organics under salinity condition of 3 to 5% and selected from Pseudomonas cepacia(KFCC-11118), Chromobacter violaceum(KFCC-11119) and Flavobacterium oryzihabitans(KFCC-11120); the other microbe, Staphylococcus xylosus active 2(KFCC-11225), has decomposition activity for biodecomposable organics under salinity condition above 10%; and the third microbe has decomposition activity for volatile organic compounds and selected from Bacillus megaterium YH-2k(KFCC-11226) and Brevibacillus laterosporus(KFCC-11227).
