PURPOSE: A method for transmitting and receiving electronic mail is provided to make a sender and a recipient entitle each other to the transmission and reception of E-mail so that E-mail can be transmitted and received through authentication. CONSTITUTION: If a user client accesses a server and transmits a connection message comprising his/her IP address and profile(S201), the server checks the layout of the received connection message(S202). If the received connection message is a normal package without an error(S203), the server searches a member management table for member information(S204). In case that the user is a legal member(S205), the server transmits a connection response message, including login success information, to the member(S206). The member client transmits a buddy list transmission request message containing common transmission information and a local IP address to the server(S208). In response to the message from the member client, the server transmits a buddy list response message to the member client(S209). Then, if the member client requests the server to transmit a cryptographic key to be used in transmitting and receiving E-mail with his/her buddy(S210), the server transmits a cryptographic response message containing an encryption formula and the requested cryptographic key(S211). |
