PURPOSE: A shock absorbing device for a vehicle hood is provided to minimize the impact transmitted to a pedestrian while maintaining the stiffness of the hood in case of head-on collision of a pedestrian with a vehicle by mounting a weight supported by a rotation lever to lower the hood downwardly, thereby protecting the pedestrian more safely. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorbing device for a vehicle hood includes a first link(110) interposed between inner and outer panels(3,2), a second link(120) having a concentric shaft at an upper part of the first link and mounted with a weight(121) at a lower part, a rotation lever(130) rotatably mounted to a bottom surface of the outer panel for supporting the weight upwardly, a return spring(140) mounted to the rotation lever for the upward support of the weight by the rotation lever, and a shock transmission lever(150) rotatably mounted to the bottom surface of the outer panel and supported by the rotation lever for rotating the rotation lever as a certain shock is applied to the outer panel.
