The invention concerns a drive shaft 2 for chain conveyors for the horizontal transportation of bagasse through a sugar cane diffuser. For the purpose of simplifying production it is proposed, according to the invention, that the shaft body consists of a plurality of tubular elements 5 which are joined together serially by weld seams 6 to give the desired shaft length, and there are welded on to the the tubular shaft casing single chain teeth 7, composed of steel plate, and bandings 8, as shaft protecting tubes, the outer circumferential surface of which forms a sliding surface for the shaft bearing in the form of a slide bearing. A flange 10 is mounted to one end of the shaft 2 for the connection to the differ drive system. Each tubular element 5 is produced for a rolled steel plate and provided with a longitudinal weld seam, each tubular element 5 being joined together serially by welding of round seams 6. |
