Epilatory compositions containing particulates

An epilatory composition comprising a matrix material in admixture with a particulate material is claimed. The matrix material may be either rosinous or a sugar-based material. The particulate material may be colloidal and more preferably be siliceous, preferably fumed silica. The particulate material may be 1 to 40% of the composition by weight. Also claimed are epilatory compositions comprising a rosinous matrix in admixture with particles of material having silanol groups such that the composition when formed into sheets and not under applied stress is shape stable for 6 months at all temperatures in the range 20-50{C. An epilatory composition comprising a matrix and modifier particles with an elastic modulus exceeding its viscous modulus at all frequencies up to 0.1 rad/s at 50{C is also claimed. An epilatory product comprising said epilatory composition sandwiched between sheets is also claimed.
