<p>The invention provides for astringent compositions comprising from about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of an astringent and between about 0.1% to 10% by weight of alcohol. The compositions have viscosity values of at least about 5,000 centipoise. The invention also provides for a method of using such compositions for delivering a topically active agent, such as, salicylic acid, into skin.</p> |
