<p>The guard consists of an isolating component (14) for the cutting edge or perforating tip (12) of an instrument, able to perform a limited movement relative to the needle holder (11), and equipped with a spring (13) which deploys the guard automatically when the instrument is not in use. When used with a needle the guard is in the form of a transparent tube, open at both ends, while to protect a scalpel blade it is in the form of a fork, connected to the scalpel handle, with prongs covering the sides and edge of the blade.</p> |
