A heat exchanger (10) made of aluminum includes a plurality of first plates (1) and a plurality of second plates (2) stacked alternately in the direction along the thickness thereof. The first plates (1) and the second plates (2) each constitute a three-layer structure. A first sacrificing material layer (32) is clad on the side surface of a first core member (31) making up each of the first plates (1) nearer to a cooling water path (21) and a second sacrificing material layer (36) is clad on the side surface of a second core member (34) making up each of the second plates (2) nearer to the cooling water path (21). A first brazing material layer (33) is clad on the side surface of the first core member (31) nearer to an oil path, and a second brazing material layer (35) is clad on the side surface of the second core member (34) nearer to the oil path. The outer peripheral portions of the first (1) and second plates (2) are bent substantially into a U shape in such a manner that the first brazing material layer (33) is interposed between the outer peripheral edge portions of the first (1) and second plates (2) and the adjacent second (2) and first (1) plates, respectively. <IMAGE>
