CARTRIDGE FOR ACCOMMODATING DISC

PURPOSE: A cartridge for accommodating a disc is provided to contain a small-sized disc of the diameter of less than 12cm and to accommodate both of single-sided and double-sided discs. CONSTITUTION: A cartridge for accommodating a disc mounted on a turn table of a recording/reproducing system includes a cartridge case(10) and a shutter(20). The cartridge case has accommodation holes(10a) at the top and bottom faces of the case. The turn table and a chucking clamper enter the top and bottom accommodation holes, respectively. The shutter is moved in at least one direction in order to close and open the accommodation holes. The vertical length of the cartridge case is longer than the horizontal length of the case. The vertical length of the cartridge case is shorter than three times of the diameter of the accommodation hole.
