The generator comprises a combined wind turbine and extractor fan 8 on a shaft 14 and driving a generator 15 which charges a battery 5 via a controller 17. A motor 13 may drive the fan for forced convection when required. The turbine (20 figs 4-6) comprises two circular (21, 22) and a circumferential plate (36) and a zig zag stepped duct across the rotor with apertures (25) opening in the circumferential plate. Air entry to the apertures causes a force imbalance and the turbine to rotate. The fan comprises vanes between one of the turbine circular plates and a further plate (23). The generator is used in caravans and sheds for ventilation and trickle and top-up charging of the battery and is intended to appear to thieves as a simple wind rotor extractor fan. May also be mounted on radio repeater masts. |
