PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing an alarm in a BSC(Base Station Controller) is provided to conveniently perform maintenance by accurately grasping the process of the alarm generated in the BSC and grasping the state of the BSC. CONSTITUTION: A multiplexing unit reads type information of loaded boards(100). The multiplexing unit checks whether a control unit connects among the currently connected boards(102). If the control unit connects, a task checks whether alarms of boards connected at a certain period(106). The multiplexing unit reads alarm information at the certain period unit and checks whether a board in which the alarm is generated exists(108). If the board in which the alarm is generated exists, the multiplexing unit records information of the generated alarm in an alarm management table(110). The multiplexing unit checks whether the generated alarm is an alarm of the control unit(112). If the generated alarm is the alarm of the control unit, the multiplexing unit transmits alarm information to a management system(114). If the generated alarm is an alarm of an other board, the multiplexing unit informs the alarm of the other board to the control unit(116).
