摘要 PURPOSE: To reduce the load on a driving circuit and reduce the power consumption by inserting step-up capacitive elements between electrodes and the driving circuit to obtain a high electrode voltage from a low driving voltage using the electric charges accumulated in the capacitive element. CONSTITUTION: The plasma display panel is provided with at least a pair of discharge electrodes arranged on a glass substrate, the driving circuit for applying a discharge voltage to the discharge electrodes, and step-up capacitive elements connected in series across the discharge electrodes and the driving circuit, and when generating discharges between the discharge electrodes, the step-up capacitive elements a charging voltage is applied to the step-up capacitive elements, and then a discharge voltage is applied to the discharge electrodes via the step-up capacitive elements.
